Portrait of my grandmother, Madeline. I'm no good at giving presents to my family for Christmas, but I've been wanting to do something special for my grandmother (who turned 80 this past October). I used her high school photo as reference. I plan to have it matted and framed then mailed to her. This is another one of my quick portraits. It took me about 7 hours total. I really need to slow down. I'm extremely impatient.

I still prefer drawing cartoons/comic book characters to real life any day.

Again, like the other portraits here, I had to take a photograph, rather than a scan. It's too big for the scanner and the graphite has a tendency to shine against the light.

EDIT: Uploaded a larger version. It still doesn't do the original any justice. But that's the case with traditional art, it seems.
